The birthplace of House music is an unstoppable nexus of creative energy, and there is absolutely zero sign of Chicago’s musical influence ever slowing down. The sound of Chicago is influenced by soul, jazz, rock & roll, industrial and overall artistic innovation – taking influences from the great musicians to emerge from the Windy City and the legendary dance parties held within the urban venues and warehouses.
With open arms to new ideas, new producers and record labels appearing alongside the true and tested legends of the city, the full range of Chicago’s dance music culture offers a place for fresh faces to be welcomed alongside their heroes and influences.
‘Shades of Chicago’ is a production collection featuring influences of Chicago, from the past to the present. Those familiar hi-hats, shuffling percussion, deep and soulful textures, jackin’ loops, moody basslines, banging kick drums, and a not-so-subtle supply of aciiiiid. Chicago has never lost it’s groove, and continues to inspire the world.
