In his first edition of Shape Shifter, Andy Wood showed you how to take fundamental harmonic and rhythmic knowledge — concepts you already know — and then twist it to fit appropriately into virtually any style. In his Creative Applications edition of Shape Shifter, you delved deeper into 10 creative approaches that you can use in your own playing, improvisations, and compositions.
In this third edition of Shape Shifter, Andy’s passes on a vocabulary of 30 “Shape Shifter” licks, which includes many of his own favorite lines and phrases for building solos and improvising with.
”Along the way, I’ll pass on tips and approaches for using these licks when soloing in whatever style of music you happen to be playing. I’ll demonstrate and break down each of the licks using backing tracks that I pulled from some of my own records covering a variety of feels, keys, and tempos. I think you’ll get a lot of use out of these 30 licks!”
Andy will explain and demonstrate all of the key concepts and approaches along the way. You’ll get standard notation and tabs for all of the performance studies. Plus, you’ll be able to use TrueFire’s learning tools to sync the tab and notation to the video lesson. You can also loop or slow down the videos so that you can work with the lessons at your own pace. All of the backing tracks are included to work with on your own as well.
